Those little string beads you buy during Mardi Gras make a major impact on a small pumpkin with the help of good ol’ Tacky Glue! It’s an awesome way to add serious bling to your pumpkin and the repetitive pattern makes a big impact!
What you need:
– Small pumpkin (real or faux)
– Aleene’s Tacky Glue
– Gold mardi gras beads
For this project you want to squeeze out the Aleene’s Tacky glue around the top of the pumpkin, but not on the stem. I started by tightly glueing the beads near the stem, then I started spiraling them around tightly placing them together. As you can see, I added the beads and glue in phases. Don’t worry, the glue dries clear so if you apply a little too much, it won’t show!
Keep adding glue and coil on the mardi gras bling until you get around the base. You will probably want to leave the bottom of the pumpkin without beads. Let dry and then display! If you wanted to you could spray paint your pumpkin gold before you began and don’t be afraid to play around with colors. A red or silver pumpkin would look amazing too!
