I wanted to create a pumpkin with some really cool texture and I think I nailed it on the head with this gold swirl pumpkin made to look like faux embossing. There’s so many possibilities with this look. You could do more than just swirls – try geometric shapes, chevrons, or even words and monograms!
Take the Tacky Glue and start drawing swirls. I first did the the top of the pumpkin with swirls and let it dry…it took a couple hours to dry. The glue I’m using is the best because it doesn’t run down the pumpkin…it’s super thick when it’s applied.
Here’s what the glue looks like now that it’s dry. As you can see, it dried clear.
The next step is to paint the pumpkin entirely black using the acrylic paint.
Take the Rub ‘n Buff and apply over the dried acrylic paint. A little bit of it will go a long way. This stuff is like a chalky paint kinda like liquid eye shadow if you are wondering about the texture.
Use a soft cloth to rub in the Rub ‘n Buff. Rub around the glue embossed parts all over the pumpkin.
Look how pretty it turned out! I think the embossed look really looks cool and I’d like to try it with other designs other patterns.
