Galaxy art has been popular in fashion and crafts over the past few years, from galaxy tie dye to galaxy canvas art. Of course, I had to make my own version in pumpkin form. Getting the look is a lot easier than you think and just takes a little patiences. Here’s how you can get your nebula on this Halloween season!
What you need:
– Black pumpkin
– Various acrylic paints (I recommend in investing in this set so you have an assortment)
– Fabric spray paints…I like these cause they can be spritzed an spurted
– Glitters in blues, pinks, and purples
– Palette or plate to mix your paints on
– Sponges
– Paintbrushes
Here’s the breakdown of how I created my design. There’s a lot of playing around with layering that goes on with this project. First you sponge on colors and layer them on, next you spritz on white and black fabric paints. You will only want to press the spray in quick little bursts so that you get a grungy spray look. The final step is to sprinkle and toss on glitter all over the pumpkin. Let dry and it’s ready to display!
As you can see, there’s a lot of glisten and random shine. Like the galaxy, the pattern is a little unpredictable.
